The plates are pre-poured malt extract agar. The medium for cultivating yeasts, molds, and other fungus. MEA is ideal for science fair projects, classroom experiments. It supports the growth of a wide variety of microorganisms, including fungi and yeasts, and is safe for educational use. Malt extract agar is formulated with industry standard ingredients: agar, malt extract, peptone. The set includes 6 plastic petri dishes. Diameter of the plate is 9 cm, height is 1.5 cm. Any contaminated or damaged plates will replaced. The agar medium is prepared using water purified with a Millipore Milli-Q laboratory water system. It is sterilised by autoclaving and subsequently poured within a sterile laminar flow hood. Warning. Not suitable for children under fourteen years. For use under adult supervision.
