The addition of activated charcoal enhances contrast, making growth more visible. MEA-C is ideal for science fair projects, classroom experiments. It supports the growth of a wide variety of microorganisms, including fungi and yeasts, and is safe for educational use. Activated charcoal improves colony visibility and differentiation. Malt extract agar is formulated with industry standard ingredients: agar, malt extract, peptone, activated charcoal. The agar medium is prepared using water purified with a Millipore Milli-Q laboratory water system. It is sterilised by autoclaving and subsequently poured within a sterile laminar flow hood. Each petri dish is individually sealed with Parafilm to maintain sterility and ensure product integrity. The set includes 6 plastic petri dishes. Diameter of a plate is 9 cm, height is 1.5 cm.
