Malt Extract Yeast Agar (MEYA) Powder to Grow Microorganisms, Bacteriological grade. Malt extract yeast agar is made of industry standard ingredients: agar, glucose, peptone, yeast extract, malt extract. 36 g will prepare 1 L of agar. The 1 litre of liquid agar will prepare approximately 50 Petri dishes at 20 ml per dish. Preparation: dissolve 36 g in 1 litre of warm water, autoclave/pressure cook for 15 min ensuring sterility thereafter, pour into Petri dishes and leave to set for 10 minutes, then inoculate.
