María La Jabalina: An Award-Winning Graphic Novel of Resistance and MemoryDiscover a profound and essential work from ASTISENDO GRUPO EDITORIAL, brought to life by the celebrated winners of the 2019 National Comic Award. In their new graphic novel, these masterful storytellers recreate the poignant and powerful life of a young anarchist woman shot at the age of 25. This vital piece of historical art has been rightfully highlighted by iconic creator Paco Roca as a great exercise in memory that gives voice to a part of our history, cementing its place as a must-have for any serious collector in the Books and Comics subcategory. This is the story of María Pérez Lacruz, forever known as María la Jabalina. She holds the tragic distinction of being the last woman murdered by Francoism in the Valencian Community. Her life, though cut brutally short, was one of immense conviction and courage. In 1942, at just 25 years old, she was shot in El Terrer, the sadly infamous wall of Paterna in Valencia, a site that has become a symbol of brutal repression. The graphic novel transports you to her formative years, following the young anarchist woman from the Libertarian Youth as she grew up around the Port de Sagunt factory. There, the atmosphere was thick with the spirit of the workers´ struggle, a force that would shape her destiny. With unwavering bravery, at the tender age of 18, she enlisted as a militiawoman in the formidable Iron Column, where she served with dedication as a nurse on the front lines. As the narrative unfolds, it confronts the grim reality of the post-war repression. It was during this dark period that María la Jabalina was betrayed, arrested, and unjustly accused of heinous crimes she could never have committed. This work does not just tell her story, it reclaims her narrative from the silence of history, presenting an unflinching look at her idealism, her sacrifice, and the injustice that sealed her fate. This piece is a testament to the power of the graphic novel medium to bear witness and restore dignity to forgotten voices, making it a cornerstone for any Fan Zone collection focused on powerful, true stories.Product Details:* Publisher: ASTISENDO GRUPO EDITORIAL* Category: Fan zone* Subcategory: Books and comics* Attributes: Synthetic, ValencianoTechnical Specifications:* Genre: Biographical Graphic Novel, Historical Non-Fiction* Artistic Team: 2019 National Comic Award Winners* Historical Focus: Spanish Civil War, Francoist Repression, Anarchist Movement* Key Figure: María Pérez Lacruz (María la Jabalina)* Primary Setting: Valencian Community (Port de Sagunt, Paterna, Valencia). tradeinn Techinn
