Mars Shinshu - Komagatake 2018 Edition Single Malt Japanese 48% ABV Nose: Aromas of ripe fruit—toasted banana, pear and apricot—rise with delicate florals, a hint of licorice and marshmallow, and a restrained touch of peat. Palate: Cinnamon and allspice mingle with ripened plum, with cashew and nuts in the background. Thick on the tongue, it heats up toward the end with vanilla cookies lingering. Finish: Peat smoke lingers on the palate as the whisky fades, finishing with a coastal hint and a subtle, minty lift.
