Whether you´re targeting carp on the method feeder or finessing a float for shy-biting species, this reel delivers an unparalleled experience on the bank. The heart of the Ethos XR lies in its incredibly fluid and responsive operation. Built with a system of 6+1 carbon steel ball bearings, every turn of the handle is silky smooth, reducing friction and ensuring long-lasting performance season after season. This seamless retrieve is complemented by an advanced multi-disc front drag system. This meticulously engineered drag provides an ultra-smooth and consistent release of line, allowing you to play hard-fighting fish with absolute confidence. It protects light hooklengths from sudden lunges and gives you the micro-adjustable control needed to subdue powerful carp and other specimen fish without fear of a line break.Power and stability are central to the Ethos XR´s design. The reel is built upon a robust, anti-flex body that provides a rock-solid foundation for the internal gearing. This critical feature eliminates any twist or flex under heavy load, ensuring that all your winding power is transferred directly into the fight. When you´re cranking in a heavy feeder from a distance or battling a strong fish in a snaggy swim, this rigidity makes a world of difference, giving you superior control and cranking force.Line management is flawless thanks to the advanced single-piece bail arm. This modern design creates a smooth, direct path for the line onto the roller, eliminating potential snag points and significantly reducing the risk of line twist. The result is perfect line lay on the spool, which in turn leads to longer, more accurate casts and fewer tangles, allowing you to fish more efficiently and effectively.Balancing speed with power, the Ethos XR features a versatile 5.2:1 gear ratio. Paired with an impressive line retrieval of 89cm per handle turn, it allows you to bring in rigs and feeders quickly from long range, saving valuable time during a match. Yet, it retains the necessary torque and winding power to manage larger fish with authority. Weighing just 298g, the reel is exceptionally lightweight, balancing perfectly on modern feeder and float rods to reduce angler fatigue during long, active sessions of repeated casting and retrieving. The MATRIX FISHING Ethos XR is more than just a reel, it´s a precision instrument designed to give you a competitive edge. It combines cutting-edge features with a durable, lightweight construction to create the ideal reel for discerning feeder and float anglers.
