TWO BUTTONS, FOUR PICTURE MODES: One button on the housing steps the HDMI output between 720P and 1080P and the other steps the picture between 4:3 and 16:9, so you can keep the original square frame for older titles or fill a widescreen panel. Both buttons are printed on the case and take a single press. PLUGS STRAIGHT INTO THE CONSOLE WITH NO VGA BOX: The captive lead ends in the console AV plug, so it goes into the back of the machine with no VGA box, no adapter chain and no drivers to install. Picture and sound then travel to the television down the one HDMI cable. SORT THE POWER LEAD BEFORE YOU START: The converter takes 5V over its Micro USB port and a 100 cm USB Micro cable is supplied, but the 5V/1A USB plug itself is not in the box. Any phone charger of that rating covers it. An HDMI cable is not included either, so have one to hand. IT HAS TO RUN STRAIGHT INTO THE TELEVISION: Connect the lead directly from the console output to the HDTV input, because this adapter does not support HDMI converters, connectors or capture cards sitting in the chain. Confirm first that your TV or monitor accepts 480i, 576i, 480p or 1080p over HDMI, as a screen that locks onto nothing lower will stay blank. SMALL ENOUGH TO SIT BEHIND THE SHELF UNIT: The body measures 7.8 x 4.3 x 1.5 cm and the attached lead runs 41 cm, so the converter tucks out of sight rather than dangling off the back of the console. The box holds one converter and one USB Micro cable.
