DESIGNED FOR SPECIALTY CARE: Medela’s SpecialNeeds Feeder is especially designed for babies who are unable to create a sufficient vacuum to remove milk during at-breast feeding. This may be because they were born with cleft lip or palate, or due to syndromes and neurological disorders. INNOVATIVE DESIGN: An elongated, slender teat made from soft silicone allows the baby to use compression instead of vacuum to remove the milk. CONTROLLABLE FLOW: The one-way valve allows the caregiver to easily pace the amount of milk that is let into the mouthpiece by squeezing the barrel. The marking lines on the teat help guide the placement of ‘slit’ in the baby’s mouth enabling the caregiver to control the 3 flow speeds. GENTLE: The teat ‘slit’ makes the device sensitive to any feeding effort and closes completely when the baby wants to pause during feeding. The one-way valve prevents air from entering the teat. REUSABLE: Easy cleaning for repeat daily use.
