Compared to the M8000 Shifter, the operating forces could be reduced by 35% thanks to a changed gear ratio in combination with a lower cage voltage at the rear derailleur. The proven Rapidfire Plus switching logic with double-sided switchable lever (2-way release) has been adopted from the previous version. However, the M8100 shifter shifts faster with its revised interior through Instant Release. The shift cable is released immediately upon actuation of the lever, allowing the pilot to respond even faster to changing track conditions. This significant reduction in effort means less fatigue on long rides and the ability to execute shifts with minimal thought, even under pressure. This state-of-the-art Shifter is defined by its cutting-edge Shimano technologies. The Rapidfire Plus feature has been a favorite of mountain bikers for years, allowing you to downshift up to three gears in a single stroke, perfect for sudden steep inclines or accelerating out of a corner. The 2-Way Release function adds a layer of ergonomic versatility, giving you the option to actuate the release lever by pulling with your index finger or pushing with your thumb, accommodating various riding styles and hand positions. Combined with the lightning-fast Instant Release, which provides the quickest cable release in the lever´s action, you get immediate gear engagement that keeps you in the perfect gear at all times. This suite of features ensures that your commands are translated into action without a moment´s delay, providing a direct and connected feel to your 12-speed drivetrain.Built for the rigors of modern MTB riding, the XT M8100 right shifter delivers the durability and performance that the Deore XT name is famous for.
