NGK DR9EIX 4772 Spark Plug Iridium IX

The NGK DR9EIX is part of the NGK Iridium IX range.NGK Iridium IX is the performance upgrade from a standard plug. The 0.6 mm fine-wire iridium centre electrode needs less voltage to fire and produces a more concentrated spark, giving quicker starting, crisper throttle response and steadier idle, particularly on high-compression, tuned or high-revving engines. Iridium is around six times harder than platinum and wears very slowly, so the gap stays accurate far longer than nickel. The tapered ground electrode reduces quenching of the flame kernel. Fitted in place of the equivalent standard NGK plug of the same heat range; check the gap before installation. Optimal ignition performance: The laser-welded iridium centre electrode has a diameter of only 0.6 mm. This keeps the ignition voltage requirement low and ensures a powerful ignition spark. Long life: Thanks to the precious metal, the Iridium IX spark plug lasts up to twice as long as a standard nickel spark plug and, due to this durability, saves money and installation and removal time. Full performance over the entire service life: With standard spark plugs, the distance between the electrodes increases over time due to burn-off. The quality of the ignition is impaired and misfiring occurs. With Iridium spark plugs, the electrode gap remains almost constant over the entire service life.
