The Nike Vaporfly 4 is an ultralight racing shoe designed to maximise takeoff, efficiency and speed across distances from 10 km to the marathon. It builds on the Vaporfly lineage with a lighter, more refined feel and a lower stack height to deliver closer ground contact and stability without sacrificing the distinctive ZoomX bounce. The full-length carbon plate remains to aid propulsion, while the upper features a lighter, more breathable Flyknit material that offers precise support where needed.

Compared with its predecessor, the Vaporfly 4 reduces weight further and lowers the stack height to 35 mm in the heel and 29 mm in the forefoot, resulting in a 6 mm drop. The design emphasises an ultralight construction, responsive energy return from ZoomX foam, and a stable platform for fast, efficient pacing.
