He prefers to emphasise the beauty and integrity of materials rather than adding unnecessary embellishments or elaborate details that would distract from the essentials. Northern's idea and mission statement is based on combining pale beauty with stark contrasts and traditional craftsmanship. They attach great importance to natural materials and craftsmanship. Combining beauty with functionality is not always easy. Northern's goal is to create works of art that fit uncompromisingly into contemporary as well as traditional spaces.
