Nutrient Agar (NUT) Powder to Grow Microorganisms, Bacteriological grade. Nutrient agar is formulated with industry standard ingredients: agar, peptone, sodium chloride and yeat extract. 30 g will prepare 1 litre of agar. The 1 litre of liquid agar will prepare approximately 50 Petri dishes at 20 ml per dish. Preparation: dissolve 30 g in 1 litre of warm water, autoclave/pressure cook for 15 min ensuring sterility thereafter, pour into Petri dishes and leave to set for 10 minutes, then inoculate.
