Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra is a clear, oil-based finish designed for exterior wooden surfaces. It provides strong UV protection to slow the greying of wood while allowing a microporous finish to breathe. The product is highly water and dirt resistant, helping to protect against weathering and reducing wood swelling, shrinking, and other timber movement. It is suitable for vertical external timber such as windows, doors, cladding, fencing, and other joinery, delivering long-lasting colour and protection. Some variants include biocides to guard against algae, mildew and fungal growth, while others are available in a clear matt finish. The finish is designed to be easy to apply, maintain and renovate, and dries to a safe, durable surface when fully cured.

This professional-grade exterior wood oil forms a robust barrier that resists cracking, peeling, or blistering and is safe for humans, plants, and animals once dry. Coverage is approximately 18 m² per litre with one coat, and a typical application involves two coats for optimum protection. The product blocks greying and helps keep natural wood appearance over time, supporting timber longevity on diverse vertical surfaces.

1. Prepare wood surface by making sure it’s clean, dry and frost free.
2. Sand surfaces, then apply the first coat.
3. Dry for 12 hours, and apply the second coat thinly.
4. Fresh wood containing natural wood ingredients need to weather off first before applying the product.
