Owatrol Oil is a colorless, penetrating oil that functions as a rust inhibitor and as a paint additive. It can be used alone to stop rust on metal by driving out moisture and air, or added to oil- and alkyd-based paints to improve flow, adhesion, and wet edge time. The product is suitable for use on metal surfaces and porous wood, where it saturates and protects against moisture to help prevent peeling. When used as a paint conditioner, it enhances uniformity and coverage, and can contribute to a tougher, more flexible finish once dried. The formulation is designed to work across typical application conditions, and is supplied in a 1 litre container with stated temperature guidelines for use.

Usage

As a rust inhibitor: apply directly to rusted metal surfaces. On porous wood, saturate the surface to protect against moisture. As a paint conditioner: add to oil or alkyd-based coatings to improve flow, adhesion, and wet edge time. Application tools include brush, roller, airless or HVLP sprayer, garden sprayer, or pump sprayer. Do not mix with paints containing hot solvents (e.g., Xylene) or use in water-based paints. Application temperature range: +5°C to +35°C.
