ESSENTIAL ADDITIVE FOR LIVEBEARERS & MALAWI CICHLIDS especially those living in coastal regions and hard water areas. Salt helps buffer and stabilise the PH helping prevent acidic water conditions that would be detrimental to health. AIDS IMMUNE SYSTEM when used at 0.1% or 1g per litre. At this level salt acts as a general tonic providing electrolytes that help aids your fishes immune system whilst also giving the benefit of stabilising the PH. 250g treats 250 litre at this concentration. REDUCES TOXIC EFFECTS OF NITRITE when used at 0.3% or 3g per litre. In an emergency adding salt at this level will help reduce the toxic effects of Nitrite buying you time that may help reduce fish losses when dealing with filtration disasters. 250g treats 83 litre at this concentration. HELPS TREATS FUNGUS FINROT & PARASITES when used at 0.9% or 9g per litre. Acts in a supportive role reducing osmotic shock when treating fish for these problems. Salt should be added gradually over three or four days preferably in an unplanted tank. If treating in a planted aquarium plants are unlikely to survive longer than a week or two and so are best removed during treatment. Salt levels should be reduced before plants are replaced. 250g treats 27 litre at this concentration. IMPORTANT NOTE when added to the aquarium salt remains in solution and does not evaporate. This means additional salt should only be added to compensate for water changes and NOT water loss due to evaporation.
