PolarPro Chroma VND/PL 2-5 | Black Mist | 77mm | McKinnon SeriesElevate your filmmaking and photography to a new cinematic standard with the PolarPro Chroma VND/PL 2-5 Stop filter with Black Mist, a masterpiece of optical engineering from the acclaimed Peter McKinnon Signature Series. Designed for discerning creators using DSLR and mirrorless cameras, this 77mm filter is not just an accessory, it´s a comprehensive creative tool that combines three essential effects into one seamless, high-performance unit. Say goodbye to stacking filters and hello to unparalleled efficiency and creative control, directly in-camera.At its core, this filter provides 2 to 5 stops of precise variable neutral density (VND). This control is crucial for videographers who need to maintain a specific shutter speed for natural motion blur (the 180-degree rule) while shooting with a wide aperture in bright, changing light conditions. For photographers, it unlocks the ability to capture stunning long-exposure shots of waterfalls or clouds during the day, or to achieve a beautifully shallow depth of field for portraits without overexposing the image. The filter features a preset stop range, eliminating the risk of cross-polarization and ensuring a clean, flawless image at every setting.Integrated seamlessly with the VND is a professional-grade circular polarizer (CPL). By simply rotating the filter, you can cut through harsh glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water, glass, and foliage. The result is a dramatic increase in color saturation, deeper and richer blue skies, and a vibrant, punchy look that makes your footage and photos pop. This dual functionality means you can control both light intensity and reflections with a single, elegant motion. What truly sets this filter apart is the inclusion of a 1/4 strength Black Mist diffusion. This subtle yet powerful effect masterfully blooms and softens highlights, giving them an ethereal, filmic glow. It gently smooths out skin tones and reduces the harshness of digital sharpness, all while retaining critical detail and contrast. The Black Mist adds a tangible, atmospheric quality to your work, creating a dreamlike aesthetic that is highly sought after in narrative and commercial filmmaking.Engineered in collaboration with Peter McKinnon, every detail is crafted for the professional workflow. The filter features tactile haptic feedback, allowing you to feel distinct clicks as you adjust through the stop range. This enables you to make precise adjustments by feel, without ever taking your eye off the viewfinder. The frame is constructed from lightweight yet durable aerospace-grade aluminum, with laser-etched indicators for clear visual reference. The heart of the filter is PolarPro's new Chroma™ glass, which delivers a perfectly neutral color profile and zero color shift, guaranteeing the highest level of color accuracy for your projects. This advanced optical design also ensures zero vignetting down to a 16mm focal length. For ultimate protection, it includes the rugged Defender360™ case, providing a waterproof and dustproof seal to keep your investment safe in any environment. tradeinn Techinn
