PRODUCER - Doppio Passo began as a retailer in the Veneto region until the family expanded their horizons to selling wines across Central Europe and beyond. The company is now run by the third generation with a portfolio of wines produced in some of Italy's finest regions. TASTING NOTES - This is a bold and powerful red wine made in a similar manner to Ripasso using a portion of dried Primitivo grapes and fermenting the wine a second time on the dried skins. As a result, it is fresh and aromatic with delicious concentrated plum, blackberry, cherry and chocolate flavours. REGION - The Salento penninsula has a hot marine climate with cool night breezes producing concentrated red wines with high alcohol and soft, rounded tannins. PAIRING - Perfect when served with spicy pasta dishes, roast pork or beef, game dishes and full flavoured hard cheeses.
