Amazon With Roky Erickson's howling vocals and visionary, occasionally crazy lyrics, 13th Floor Elevators were one of the archetypal acid rock bands. Formed in Texas in the mid-'60s, the Elevators started out as a garage rock band and had a national hit with their single, simple song, You're Gonna Miss Me. Roky Erickson's wacky personality and Tommy Hall's odd jug-playing were the band's most defining features, but the other members of the band also contributed strong material to the albums.
