Each end of the cable has been professionally cold weld crimp terminated, in accordance with QED recommendations, with QED Airloc Forte metal banana plugs by one of our QED trained in house engineers to ensure the best possible connection to your amplifier or speakers. QED Silver Anniversary-XT successfully introduces QED's high end 'X-Tube' technology into a mid-priced product for the first time. The precise cylindrical construction of the silver-plated, 99.999% pure, oxygen free copper cables reduces the distortion caused by 'skin effect'. The result is a completely neutral speaker cable that allows good hi-fi and home cinema equipment to shine. This high quality cable is a standard 'figure 8' configuration and is attractively finished, with each silver-plated core visible through a flexible 3.9mm diameter clear polyethylene outer sheath. At low frequencies both X-TUBE and conventional stranded/solid core speaker cable convey signals in a linear way. At higher frequencies X-TUBE retains a near-linear signal transfer, whereas conventional stranded/solid core cable fails to efficiently conduct higher frequencies uniformly across the entire conductor area.
