It is used to restrict the spread of light, preventing light from spilling onto areas of the set where you don’t want the light to fall. Reduces Lens Flare: The Honeycomb Grid can also be used to reduce the likelihood of getting lens flare in your image if your softbox is pointed toward the camera (note: will not prevent lens flare if the light source is pointed directly at the camera).
