Description

Amazon 🌿 Phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia) is a fast-developing groundcover loved by bees, butterflies and other pollinators. It quickly forms a carpet of blue-lilac flowers in succession, bringing colour and life to the garden. Its dense growth naturally covers the ground and needs little upkeep. It prefers full sun and well-drained soils; after establishment it needs watering only during drier periods. 🌱 Sowing (March–October, soil ≥ 6–8 °C): broadcast 1–2 g/m² evenly, lightly cover with seed compost to 0.5–1 cm and firm the seedbed. Keep the soil consistently moist until germination (7–14 days). 500 g covers around 300 m² on average (250–500 m² depending on density). 🚜 Care: typical height 50–100 cm. Prefers full sun. Water during germination to keep the seedbed consistently moist; after establishment water only in prolonged drought and avoid waterlogging. Mowing is not required. For continuous colour, sow in succession every 3–4 weeks. To improve growth and vigour, at sowing apply a 15-25-6 starter fertiliser at 30 g/m². Flowers from late spring to autumn. ⚠️ Warnings: keep soil moist during germination and avoid waterlogging. Store in a cool, dry, dark place, out of reach of children under 3 years.
