This Rapala lure is praised for its great action, high-quality finish, and effectiveness. A deadly fishing lure for catching big trout, including common and rainbow, it performs well in reservoirs. Available in various sizes and natural colors, it´s a must-have for any tackle box. Some note its large size and weight make it a good lure for kayak fishing. The material is good quality, though one user reported a minor defect with an unglued magnet. Discover the ultimate control and aggressive action with the RAPALA X-Rap® Countdown® Minnow 10g 70mm, a revolutionary lure in the Minnows subcategory that perfectly marries two of Rapal´s most successful concepts. This is the tool for anglers who demand precision and a proven fish-catching presentation. Now anglers can fish the Xtreme Attitude of the X-Rap at any depth consistently. Rapala introduced the effective ´CountDown´ method back in the 60s. Since its introduction, the technique has enabled fishermen to consistently reach suspended fish at any depth. The X-Rap Countdown sinks at a controlled, predictable rate, allowing you to drop the lure into the exact strike zone, whether fish are holding at two feet or twenty. This methodical approach removes the guesswork and puts you in command of the water column. The X-Rap CountDown models swim with a strong rolling action on the retrieve and flutter on the pause. This dual-action presentation is deadly. On a steady retrieve, the lure exhibits a hard-kicking, side-to-side wobble that mimics a fleeing baitfish, sending out powerful vibrations and visual signals. When you pause the retrieve, the lure doesn´t just sink, it flutters seductively on the drop, imitating a wounded or dying fish—an easy meal that predatory species cannot resist. Flat sides create a hard flash, reflecting maximum light with every roll to catch the eye of distant fish, even in murky water or low-light conditions.Built with Rapal´s legendary commitment to quality, uniform construction processes ensure a consistent sink rate for repeatable depth presentation, lure after lure. This means you can trust your count to be accurate every time, allowing for a strategic and effective approach to targeting suspended schools of fish or structure at specific depths.
