General description Ronseal Crystal Clear Outdoor Varnish Satin is designed to protect exterior wood surfaces such as doors and windows while maintaining their natural color. This water-based varnish is resistant to yellowing over time and becomes rainproof in just one hour, making it an ideal choice for outdoor applications. Sand the wood lightly with 120 grit sandpaper to remove old varnish or imperfections. Wipe the surface with white spirit to remove dust and dirt. Stir the varnish thoroughly before application. Apply three coats in the direction of the wood grain, allowing six hours between coats. Lightly sand the surface before the final coat for a smooth finish.
