Preparation and application

Ensure the room is warm and well-ventilated. Clean the wood with a cloth and white spirit to remove wax, grease, dirt, or oil. Sand the surface with 120 grit sandpaper to smooth rough patches and remove any peeling or flaking old coating. Wipe away dust with a damp cloth and allow the wood to dry thoroughly before varnishing. Stir the varnish well before application. Test the colour on a hidden area to ensure satisfaction. Apply an even layer of varnish.
