Application Instructions

Before you begin, ensure that this stain is suitable for your project. Ronseal One Coat Fence Life is not recommended for use on decking, garden furniture, or any smooth planed wood. For the best results, choose a warm, dry day with temperatures above 10°C and no rain forecasted. It is crucial that the wood is clean and dry for optimal absorption of the stain. Use a stiff brush to remove dirt and debris before application.

You have two application methods to choose from: brushing or spraying.

Brushing:

Take a generous amount of stain on your brush and apply a thick coat to the surface of the wood, being careful not to overextend. After one hour, the surface will be 100% showerproof, and it will fully dry in four hours. For weathered wood, consider applying a second coat after the first has completely dried; simply assess the coverage before proceeding.

Spraying:

Pour the stain into your spray tank, pump it up or switch it on, and begin spraying. Use long, sweeping, horizontal movements to ensure an even application across the fence panel. Overlap each pass by about 50% to achieve uniform coverage.

Maintenance and Aftercare

Regularly inspect your wood for any signs of damage. If you observe any wear, simply apply another coat of Ronseal One Coat Fence Life to reinforce protection.

For cleaning, remove excess stain from your brush and wash it with warm, soapy water. Be sure to dispose of leftover stain responsibly by contacting your local council for advice—never pour it down drains or into watercourses.
