How to Use

# Before You Start

Preparation is key to achieving the best results with Ronseal decking paint. Ensure you select a warm, dry day (preferably above 10°C) for application. Begin by clearing the decking and scrub the surface thoroughly with a stiff brush. This process removes dirt, loose wood particles, and any old coatings. Rinse the deck with a hose or, for optimal results, use a jet wash. Cleaning the decking is crucial because any dirt or debris can prevent the paint from adhering properly. # Application

Before painting, stir the paint well using a wide tool such as an old wooden spoon. Test the colour on a hidden section of the deck to ensure satisfaction. Load your brush generously and start painting from the furthest corner, applying the paint along the length of 3-4 boards at a time to avoid any overlapping marks. Pay special attention to small cracks, applying extra paint to ensure they are filled properly. Two coats of paint are required, with a drying time of 4 hours between coats. After 48 hours, your deck will be ready for use and can accommodate outdoor furniture.

Aftercare and Maintenance

After completing your project, clean your brushes or pads thoroughly in warm, soapy water, ensuring no paint is flushed into drains or water sources.
