Application Instructions

Before starting your project, choose a warm, dry day with temperatures above 10°C. Begin by thoroughly cleaning the deck surface—use a stiff brush to scrub away dirt, loose wood, and any previous coatings. For the best results, consider using Ronseal's Decking Cleaner & Reviver to enhance paint adhesion and longevity. After cleaning, rinse the deck thoroughly with water, preferably using a jet wash, and ensure it is completely dry before painting.

To apply, thoroughly stir the paint using a wide tool, such as an old wooden spoon, and perform a patch test in an inconspicuous area to confirm your desired colour. When ready to paint, use a brush or decking pad to apply the paint generously, beginning in the farthest corner and working along the length of the boards. Focus on a few boards at a time to avoid overlap marks, and fill in any cracks with extra paint.

Two coats are needed for optimal coverage, allowing 4 hours of drying time between each coat. After 48 hours, your newly coated deck will be ready for furniture placement and usage.

Aftercare and Maintenance

After completing your painting project, clean brushes and pads in warm, soapy water, being mindful not to dispose of excess paint in drains or watercourses.
