ORIGIN: Rukeri OP1 tea is a high-quality black tea produced in Rwanda. The Rukeri estate is a part of the broader tea-growing area in the Northern Province of the country. It is one of the oldest and most renowned tea producers in Rwanda. ABOUT: The leaves are carefully hand-picked and processed using the orthodox methods, where the leaves are withered, rolled, oxidised and dried. This tea has a smooth, light-to-medium-bodied flavour, with subtle hints of malt. BENEFITS: Rwanda Rukeri tea, like other black teas, contains antioxidants. Its moderate-to-high caffeine levels may provide an energy boost. USES: Adding milk or sugar is optional, but the tea is often enjoyed without additives to savour its natural, delicate flavours. BREWING: Allow 1- 1½ teaspoon per cup. Boil the water and wait for about 1 minute before pouring it onto the leaves. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes. The brewing time and water temperature can be adjusted based on personal preferences.
