The material used is hypoallergenic, sterile and latex-free, making it the perfect suitable even for those with sensitive skin. They can be used in place of staples and sutures, to gently hold the edges of a wound in place during the healing process, which leads to less scarring than when using traditional stitches. The strips offer quick, easy and painless application, typically remaining in place for up to a week. The adhesive is designed to naturally detach as the wound heals, but can also be gently soaked off in warm water.
