Historical Heritage: Sancho Garcés is our brand in homage to king Sancho Garcés III, the Great, king of the kingdom of Pamplona between 1004 and 1035. Based in Nájera, a town bordering Uruñuela, he promoted the Camino Primitivo of the Way of St. James by building hospitals and hostels, which is why many travelers stop-off in Rioja to know its culture and enjoy our wine Traditional Production: Sancho Garcés wines have the marked characteristics of our area and a traditional production which makes Rioja recognizable from the first sip Location: Located in the heart of La Rioja Alta, in Uruñuela, a renowned wine-producing region in Spain Geography: Located at 450 - 600m above sea level, Zinio is surrounded by mountains (south of Sierra Cantabria and north of Sierra de la Demanda) and close to three rivers (Ebro, Yalde and Najerilla) Weather: Predominantly Mediterranean with important Atlantic influences and an annual rainfall of around 430l/m3 Wine Composition: A refreshing White Rioja made with 85% Viura and 15% Tempranillo Blanco grapes, showcasing the distinctive blend of this DOC region Tasting Profile: Displays aromas of white flowers, fruit compote and pineapple, light and fresh on the palate with notes of pear and citrus fruits, featuring good acidity combined with expressive flavours
