2016 saw the Seifried family celebrate 40 years of winemaking. They are the oldest family winery in the South Island of New Zealand and the largest winery in Nelson. Sweet Agnes is an iconic wine for Seifried Estate, and was named by Hermann Seifried in honour of his wife Agnes. Sweet Agnes is New Zealand’s most awarded dessert wine with a total of 15 trophies and 40 gold medals since its release in 2006. Recent awards include 2017 Decanter World Wine Awards Platinum ‘Best New Zealand sweet’ & 2016 IWSC Gold medal. Made using 100% Riesling fruit, the grapes were hand selected at the peak of ripeness. Tasting note: the palate is luscious with bright fruit balanced by natural acidity.
