🏗️ WASHED SHARP SAND - 23kg bag of washed, concreting grade sharp sand with a coarse, gritty texture. Washing removes dust and clay, and the angular grains lock together for strength. Often called grit sand, builders sand or concreting sand 🧱 CONCRETE & SCREEDS - Mix with gravel and cement for concrete, or with cement for floor screeds. Also used as mortar on stone buildings 🟫 PAVING & PATIOS - The sand bed that block paving is laid on, and a semi-dry bedding mix for patio slabs and flags. For brushing into paving joints, use kiln dried sand instead 🔌 PIPE & CABLE BEDDING - Beds underground electric ducts, water pipes and ground source heating pipes 🌱 GARDEN & LANDSCAPING - Dig into heavy clay soil to loosen it and help drainage, or mix your own potting soil. A natural product, so colour can vary slightly from bag to bag
