The dazzling Aurora designer ceiling light, crafted from Plainflex® and crystals The Aurora ceiling light is a real showstopper and a decorative feature in any room. The crystal core intensifies the light, which seems to swirl almost in time with the rhythm of its reflections, whilst the ceiling lamp radiates grace and elegance throughout the room. Thanks to a practical magnetic system, the light can be easily attached to the ceiling. The uniquely designed lampshade can be conveniently removed, making it easier to replace the bulb and clean the surfaces. Crafted from high-quality technopolymers, specially developed and processed by the lighting manufacturer Slamp, the distinctive and luxurious design was created by the internationally renowned architect and designer Nigel Coates. Yet Aurora is not merely a light source suitable for both domestic and hospitality settings; it is also a design object and a piece of interior décor that enriches the prevailing interior style with a touch of glamour. The British architect and designer Nigel Coates studied at the University of Nottingham. He was a professor and head of the Department of Architecture at the Royal College of Art from 1995 to 2011, and was appointed professor emeritus in 2011. Throughout his career, he has designed numerous pieces of furniture and light for various Italian companies. From 2008 to 2010, he served as Art Director at Slamp. Coates strives to unite art and intellect with architecture and design – regardless of the space or object in question, he always interprets it with passion, irony and instinct. The Italian lighting company Slamp was founded in 1992 by Roberto Ziliani and places particular emphasis on the development of innovative materials in the manufacture of its designer lights. Slamp has thus developed exclusive, proprietary technopolymers such as Cristalflex®, Opalflex® and Lentiflex®.
