Suntory Yamazaki 12 Year Old is the legendary, pioneering flagship single malt from Japan's oldest malt distillery. Established in 1923 in the misty vale of Yamazaki, the distillery benefits from a unique microclimate and exceptionally pure water. This masterpiece is aged for a minimum of twelve years in a combination of hand-selected casks, including American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, Spanish Oloroso sherry butts, and rare Japanese Mizunara oak.The result is a whisky of brilliant golden-amber hue. Its rich, complex nose offers ripe peach, pineapple, grapefruit, sweet vanilla, and signature Mizunara incense. The palate is deeply smooth and medium-to-full-bodied, revealing succulent layers of coconut, red berry jam, candied ginger, butterscotch, and subtle baking spices. It culminates in a profoundly long, warming, and clean finish with lingering sweet oak, dried fruits, and Japanese cedar.Best enjoyed neat, with a few drops of water, or over a hand-carved ice sphere.
