Carbon Fibre kit with Epoxy Resin - Small repairs on carbon fibre products - fishing rods, Fishing Poles, Carbon Cycles, Carbon golf shafts, Kayak paddles , Car spoliers plus many more. Kit Contents: Carbon Fibre Cloth fabric tape- 50cm Long, 100mm Wide. Epoxy Resin 2 part - 50g PART A - 25g PART B. Sandpaper , 2 stirring Sticks, 2 small brushes, Insulation Tape . Suggested Tools ( not supplied ) - kitchen scales, sellotape or masking tape , Knife or Scissors, Disposable gloves and old cardboard to protect a work surface from the inevitable resin spill. Repairs - Narrow tape designed to wrap around a pole or rod to provide a strong overlapping repair. Sandpaper provided to prepare the area. Insulation tape to wrap round repair area- it proves good compression to the resin impregnated carbon tape for a robust repair - This is best removed whilst the resin is still surface tacky ( almost cured ) . Epoxy resin - 2 Part resin - needs to be mixed on WEIGHT so kitchen scales will be required. Mix ratio is 2 to 1 e.g 30g of PART A - Add 15g of PART B Hardener. Mix really well, working time approx 30mins, full cure is 24 hours at room temperature above 18 Deg. Cold weather Increases the cure time and should be avoided, Hot weather can reduce it . Sufficient resin supplied to complete an optional additional gloss coat . Lightly sand the repair to remove any high spots or sharp edged, Apply a further resin coat to give a gloss finish. Recycled small food containers make good resin mixing pots. Use a sharp knife to cut the carbon tape- masking tape useful to keep loose ends under control. Shelf Life of kit - 6 Months from purchase.
