The dinosaur is believed to have reached around 4.7 metres in length and was equipped with sharp teeth and large claws used for hunting. The species was discovered in Japan and became one of the country’s most important dinosaur finds. Fossils uncovered in Fukui helped establish the region as one of Japan’s leading centres for dinosaur research and palaeontology. Fukuiraptor belonged to a group of fast-moving predatory dinosaurs and is recognised for its lightweight build and agile body structure. Ongoing research continues to improve understanding of its appearance and evolutionary relationships. The Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum has played a major role in studying and presenting the species, helping bring Japanese dinosaur discoveries to wider international attention.
