History: The Lockheed Martin F-35C Lightning II is the carrier variant of the Joint Strike Fighter, designed to replace ageing F/A-18 Hornets in US Navy service. Featuring larger wings, foldable tips, and strengthened landing gear, the F-35C can withstand the stresses of carrier launches and arrested landings. Equipped with advanced stealth technology, networked avionics, and multi-role capability, it can operate in air-to-air, air-to-ground, and reconnaissance roles. Its ability to switch between stealth, air-to-air, and ‘beast mode’ configurations makes it a highly versatile platform. Since its introduction, the F-35C has enhanced the striking power of carrier air wings, ensuring dominance in modern naval aviation for decades to come.
