To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, Taylor’s Port, a Royal Warrant Holder to HM The Queen decided to bottle a Very Very Old Tawny Port. This excellent Port is drawn from our extensive reserves of the finest wood aged wines, which have been maturing in seasoned oak casks, since the Queen succeeded to the throne, silently attesting to Her Majesty’s extraordinary reign as the longest serving Monarch in British history. The component wines for this limited-edition bottling have been individually selected and blended by Taylor’s blenders. The attention to detail in the cellars is displayed on the palate of this extraordinary wine, where notes of anise, marzipan, quince and subtle hints of butterscotch are overlaid with astonishing refinement and balanced acidity. The decades of ageing in wood have concentrated this wine almost to an essence, producing intense, complex nutty and spicy aromas, elevated by a crisp acidity which gives the wine an attractive freshness.
