Forgefix TechFast Timber to Steel CSK/Wing Screws are designed for joining timber to steel frame structures. They feature breakaway wings that create a clearance hole to prevent the thread from engaging timber during drilling. The wings ream a hole and break off upon contact with metal, allowing the thread to engage with the steel. A TORX compatible insert enables higher torque transmission, and recessed ribs improve countersinking. The screws are fire and corrosion resistant and comply with EU Safety, Health and Environmental requirements. Suitable for self-drilling into heavy gauge steel up to 12.5 mm, they are specified for timber-to-steel connections with a 5.5 x 60 mm size and a clamping thickness of 31 mm.
