The Classic Multi-Purpose Screw is manufactured from Austenitic Stainless Steel (A2-304) for superior corrosion resistance, making it suitable for external applications such as decking platforms and areas with corrosive environments or corrosive base materials like Oak or Cedar. This 4.5 x 50 mm screw features a double countersunk head and a Pozi recess, designed to facilitate countersinking and reduce the likelihood of head shear. It is specified to BS EN 14592:2008 and is compatible with hardwood, softwood, and corrosive wood substrates. The thread length is 32 mm with a 4.5 mm thread diameter, and the head diameter is 8.76 mm. The screw is rated for corrosion in urban and industrial areas with a moderate salt atmosphere (corrosion rating 4). Included in the package is a PZ2 bit. The product is designed to minimize torque and timber splitting with a single slash point and a helix shank that helps remove debris and improve clamping.
