The TIMCO Self-Drilling Wing-Tip Screws are designed to join wood to light section steel up to 5 mm thick. Featuring a coarse self-tapping thread with wings, the screws ream timber to allow efficient installation and prevent overheating during rotation. When the wings contact metal, they break off to permit the threaded shank to self-tap into the steel. The fasteners are partially threaded and provide a hex head with a washer, a self-drilling tip, and a zinc plating finish. These screws are intended specifically for light sectional work, combining practical design with reliable performance for wood-to-steel connections.
