She received multiple refits during the interwar years, including enhanced AA defences and torpedo bulges, yet remained slow by WWII standards. Anchored in Scapa Flow during the early days of the war, she was torpedoed and sunk by U‑47 on the night of 13–14 October 1939, resulting in the loss of 833 lives—a serious shock to British home waters defence ().Suggested Paint References:These colour references match typical late-WWI to pre‑WWII Royal Navy battleship finishes. They are visually based on authentic standards and may differ from the colours referenced in the instructions.ComponentFinishTamiyaVallejoMr HobbyMr ColorHull & Superstructure (Haze Grey)Semi-MatteXF-19 Sky Grey71.051 Sea GreyH306 FS16440C306 FS16440Deck Planking & Wooden AreasSemi-GlossXF-69 NATO Black (wash)70.862 Black Grey (pinwash)H031 Black FS37038 (wash)C137 Tyre Black (wash)Main Gun Barrels / TurretsMattXF-56 Metallic Grey70.863 Gunmetal GreyH028 SteelC028 SteelAA Guns & Medium ArmamentMattXF-61 Dark Green70.893 US Dark GreenH303 Green FS34102C303 Green FS34102Life Boats & BuoysMattXF-8 Flat Blue70.899 Prussian BlueH326 Blue FS15042C326 Blue FS15042Rails & Small DetailsSemi-MatteXF-20 Medium Grey71.065 Grey GreenH307 FS36231C307 FS36231
