The Turboline 40 mm tape from Gallagher is a high-quality and safe tape for horses. This tape is ideal for both short and long, permanent horse fences. Thanks to the high visibility and large contact surface, the chance of injuries is minimal and the tape forms a very good visual barrier. Very good conduction thanks to copper and stainless steel With a very low resistance of 0.05 Ω/m, this tape conducts much better than standard tape. This is due to four tinned copper wires of 0.25 mm located in the center of the tape. This is important because the entire electric horse fence remains very well energised, even over long distances of more than 500 metres. Additionally, there are ten stainless steel wires of 0.16 mm, and one of 0.20 mm, evenly distributed across the width, ensuring that the entire 40 mm contact surface is energised. Extra reinforcement for safety and durability The Turboline 40 mm tape is additionally reinforced with two edge wires at the top and bottom. This reduces the chance of tearing when damaged and ensures less stretch, keeping the tape tight and requiring less maintenance. A tightly tensioned tape is safer because it breaks more quickly under great pressure, such as from a fleeing horse. This minimises the risk of injuries and entanglement, for example, if a rolling horse hits the tape with its legs. Also, a tensioned tape will flutter less and thereby put less strain on the posts and insulators. Breaks controlled at the right places The tape has a tensile strength of 380 kg, but can still break quickly at the right places if a horse tries to escape through the fence. However, it is important to use sturdy insulators and corner posts, as weak components might break before the tape itself.
