FOR MILD STEEL, PLASTIC AND WOOD: An everyday drill bit for mild steel, plastic and wood. For stainless steel, cast iron or harder steels, use a cobalt drill bit instead. 135° SPLIT POINT: A flatter, self-centring point that bites straight away and doesn't wander, so it's easier to start on smooth or curved metal. SIZE: 0.5mm x 22mm, pack of 10. DIN 338 jobber length with a straight round shank that fits any standard drill chuck. FOR A CLEAN HOLE: Centre punch the mark, and drill a small pilot hole first for bigger sizes. Use a slow speed with firm pressure, and cutting fluid on steel so the edge lasts.
