The Union 21EU StrongBOLT Euro Profile Deadlock is designed for timber doors hinged on either the left or right side and suitable for doors up to 54 mm thick. It features a 14 mm deadbolt that can be locked or unlocked with a key from either side, providing secure deadlocking. The lock uses hardened steel pins to resist sawing attacks and a chamfered bolt design to improve performance under side-load testing. A radius plastic splinter guard aids installation, and the deadbolt can be fitted into many UK mortices without additional carpentry or edge spoiling. The forend is brass with a matching face plate and the case is steel with a red powder coating. The strike plate is finished to match the forend, and the rebate kit is available in 13 mm or 26 mm options. Technical specifications include a case size of 68 mm x 89 mm (2.5 in) and a backset of 45 mm from the door edge to the keyhole center.
