The Vaillant negative temperature coefficient sensor is compatible with Ecomax VU (condensing), Ecomax VUW (condensing), Thermocompact VC (fan-assisted), Thermocompact VU (fan-assisted), Turbomax VUW (fan-assisted), VC-VCW (conventional flue), Combicompact VCW (conventional flue), Thermocompact VC (conventional flue), Aquaplus VUI (fan-assisted), Combicompact VCW (fan-assisted), Thermocompact VC-VCW (balanced flue) and VC-VCW (balanced flue) boilers. The sensor decreases the circuit resistance in line as the temperature increases. The boiler's printed control board sends a current to the thermistor, deciding whether a decrease or increase in heat is required by reading the relative resistance.
