Tik'Alert® is a rapid immunodiagnostic test, specific for the detection of antibodies against Borrelia of the IgM class . The medical device allows early detection of infection with the Borrelia bacteria 6 weeks after the tick bite. A professional home test for the detection of IgM antibodies against Borrelia (the early stage of Lyme disease) is performed using blood taken from a finger. Anti -Borrelia IgM antibodies appear in the first phase of the infection - when the possible treatment is most effective. IgM antibodies remain in the blood for up to several months after being bitten by an infected tick, mosquito, louse, or other insect that transmits Lyme disease. It is recommended to perform the LanHome Tik'Alert ® test at least 2 weeks after the tick bite. This is the time it takes for the body to produce antibodies against the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi that causes Lyme disease. Early diagnosis of infection allows rapid application of antibiotic therapy. Taking the test and reading the test result is quick and easy - it takes 10 minutes. The reliability of the test is high.
