History: Late Saxon and Anglo-Danish skirmishers were crucial to the armies of early medieval England, performing reconnaissance, raiding, and harassment roles. Often lightly armoured and highly mobile, these troops could exploit terrain and strike swiftly before retreating. Their weaponry included a variety of axes, swords, and throwing spears, reflecting both native Anglo-Saxon traditions and Viking influences. Religious figures accompanied many armies, offering spiritual support and symbolising the Christian faith. This set perfectly captures the diversity and adaptability of these fighters in a compact and detailed format.
