VITCAS Heatproof Mortar is an Air Setting Refractory Cement for INDOOR applications. Rated for use up to 1400 ºC (2552 ºF) the ready mixed cement has good adhesion and achieves smoke and gas-tight joints.Vitcas Heatproof Mortar is a Ready mixed, air setting refractory mortar in a consistency suitable for trowelling. It is designed for use with all types of fire bricks and brick slips aiming for a thin joint thickness of 3 – 5mm. It is rated for use up to 1400 ºC, well in access of any temperature to be found in domestic applications. Uses: Vitcas Heatproof Mortar is ideal for setting fire bricks and insulating materials, setting firebricks in room heaters, building out fireplaces, lining fireplace recesses with firebricks or brick slips and boiler areas. In fact, use Vitcas Heatproof Mortar almost anywhere you’d use ordinary mortar, but where a heat-resistant product is required. It is suitable for all kinds of INTERIOR use, but must not to be used outdoors, unless it is protected from water by a roofed area or an additional render coat with a different material. It is also not suitable for use as a rendering or gap filling material. For outdoor applications Vitcas Heatproof Screed and Outdoor Oven Cement are suitable alternatives which will withstand the weather. Application: All surfaces to which Vitcas Heatproof Mortar is to be applied should be clean and free from grease, dust and dirt. Stir contents of tub thoroughly before use. Apply with a trowel making sure are areas to be joined are totally covered with a thin bed of Vitcas Heat Proof Mortar. Do not mix any other material with Heatproof mortar. Thoroughly clean tools immediately with water after use.
